The Feed the Need club aims to provide food for those in need in the Montgomery County area and combat hunger. We hope to address this issue in our community and help make a difference in the lives of those in need.

KindCo. is a selfless service organization that works to make our community a better place. We will be helping people at different shelters such as the Interfaith clothing center and the International rescue comittee and also different hospitals such as shady grove hospital and children's national hospital. We would plan to meet at school, but there could be times where we meet on the weekends for certain community projects. We will start food drives, local cleanups within our community (helping the local organization ECOSIKH). We also will help Guru Gobind Singh Foundation, a Sikh temple (also a community service organization), provide pre-packed meals for families in need.We can also give baskets and cards for children and elderly in hospitals, especially during the holidays. We would like to teach Poolesville students about helping others without expecting any thing return (the idea of selfless service).

This chapter of High Schoolers for Front Liners (HSFL) creates and donates handmade masks, heart pillows, and cards to support hospitals, veterans, seniors, and children’s centers.

Project UNITY is a global, youth-led, registered nonprofit founded in 2020 that promotes public health awareness, student innovation, and leadership. Operating as a national innovation lab and training ecosystem, Project UNITY empowers high school students, college students, and young professionals to design solutions that address urgent public health challenges, combat misinformation, and advance health equity. The purpose of our Poolesville chapter is to raise awareness about public health and promote greater understanding and inclusion within our community. Some of our goals are to provide hands-on support and raise awareness for individuals with autism, as well as educate the public about emergency preparedness, chronic health diseases and disparities, mental health and substance abuse, environmental health, and more. We aim to achieve these goals through initiatives such as fundraisers, presentations and Q&A sessions, and other educational events. Project UNITY also offers internship opportunities, mentorship, and leadership training, helping students develop interdisciplinary skills at the intersection of medicine, public health, and digital health. By bringing these resources to Poolesville High School, we hope to give students the opportunity to become leaders, make a meaningful impact, and shape the future of healthcare and public health.

The purpose of the Red Cross club at Poolesville is to allow students to supporting our military veterans, learn critical lifesaving training such as how to save a life, be able to donate blood, and how to get deeply involved in the National American Red Cross orgnaiztion. Every meeting we have will be about numerous different topics ranging from learning about disaster relief to how to treat a wound and save poeple. In addition to teaching a wide variety of topics that are in line with the redcross organization, we also want to allow our poolesville community to help others. We hope to arrange blood drives, Food drives, toiletry drives, writing letters to the military veterans, and more.

Save the Children allows students to advocate for childrens rights while raising funds for these children. They can raise funds for these children through fundraisers, speaking with law makers, and different activitys to gain awarness.

Students will be able to make knit and crochet gifts (scarves, hats, animals, bookmarks) for hospitals and nursing homes. We also give students the opportunity to teach basic stitches to patients and residents. No prior experience is required!

The Beyond the Sight club will allow students to learn basic Braille and help spread awareness for funding literacy programs for those with limited vision in MCPS. As well as to empower students to help increase accessibility to low-vision persons. No prior learning experience is required.

Poolesville Green Works is centered around holding service projects to benefit the environment both in and outside of the PHS campus. Members can help brainstorm ideas for projects, like trash pick-ups, weeding, building with wood, planting flowers, and other ideas. The club holds service projects on weekends, where club members come out and help, and earn SSL hours as well.

Roots and Shoots is a non profit organization established by Jane Goodall, as a club we will start projects through this organization that deal with helping the community and reaching out to young people and educating them about the steps they can take to fight climate change and biodiversity loss.

Our club focuses on making a positive environmental impact by organizing fundraisers and tree-planting events. Our goal is to engage students in sustainability efforts and help make our community a little greener.

HOSA exposes students to healthcare careers through competitions and healthcare related conferences. HOSA empowers students to become leaders in the healthcare field in the future.

Mind4Youth exists to empower teens to understand, talk about, and take action for mental health. Its purpose is to bridge the gap between awareness and real support by giving students the tools, education, and confidence to advocate for themselves and their peers.Mind4Youth is a youth led mental health organization focused on promoting awareness, education, and early intervention for high school students. Through workshops, fundraisers, community projects, and advocacy campaigns, Mind4Youth encourages open conversations about mental health while addressing the systemic barriers that prevent young people from getting help. The organization also collaborates with schools and professionals to create more supportive environments where students can thrive emotionally and academically.

Guiding students to a life in medicine, and how to navigate the pre-med journey (medical school, interviews, etc.). Learning about anatomy, physiology, and histology, as well as discussing medical ethics and recent developments in the medical field.

To spread awareness of teen mental health issues, and to celebrate each other in a friendly community

This club will allow students to focus on their mental wellness and take a step back from all the stress they face. During these club meetings, I plan to teach mindfulness and yoga poses that will keep their minds off of schoolwork. I also plan to host small workshops with professional yoga instructors who can speak about the importance of yoga.

The National Technical Honor Society is an educational non-profit that exists to honor, recognize, and empower students and teachers in Career & Technical Education. As the honor society for Career & Technical Education, NTHS serves over 100,000 active members annually in both secondary and postsecondary chapters across the country. Since its founding in 1984, nearly 1.2 million students have become NTHS alumni. NTHS honors the achievements of top CTE students, provides over $300,000 in scholarships annually, and strives to help connect education and industry to build a highly skilled workforce.

The mission is to recognize high school achievement in Spanish and to promote interest in Hispanic studies.

Crew of student technicians which staff, student leaders, clubs and other stakeholders at PHS can request A/V (sound, lighting, video, photo) services from. Student technicians have been running A/V at pep rallies, talent shows, etc. for multiple years now; however, there has never been a formal group to contact to request these services. This club is intended to address that issue.

Elevate the Future PHS will help close the equity gap between students, specifically in STEM and business. We will provide low-income and minority students access to STEM and business resources and opportunities, such as classes, textbooks, competitions, etc.

Increase awareness of career opportunities and resources available to students. Organize events and campaigns to promote career exploration and postsecondary planning within the student community. Weight lifting is an important part of a high school student's training program. It helps improve strength and power, as well as reduce injury risk.

The Trail Club is designated for those interested in outdoor recreation, specifically trail-based activities. We would organize hikes, trail runs, and mountain bike rides with all members of the club. We would also teach the Leave No Trace principles to keep our local trails as healthy as possible. This club would serve as an opportunity for members to meet new people and form new friendships while having a great time in the outdoors coming out of a long pandemic.

App In Club is a high school club for solo builders who want to ship something real, even if you have zero coding experience. We teach you to code with Cursor as your AI pair-programmer, guiding you from idea to launch with fast, hands-on build sessions. Week by week you will keep building your product for a problem you care about, plan features, and build an MVP. By the end, you will have a completed, publishable product for web or mobile that is live, shareable, and ready for real users. It might also end up being out and marketed. Perfect for college apps, and business pitch competitions.

The Black and Gold club is for developing student-created, multi-media safety resources (e.g. QR code launched safety video clips for machinery), material inventory management systems, and machine-use scheduling systems for room 199.
